Legal Requirements (General Practitioners)
To work in the UK as a general practitioner it is necessary to hold the following certificates:
- Full registration with the General Medical Council
- (PMETB) Postgraduate Medical Education Training Board / (JCPTGP) Joint committee for post-graduate training for GPs certificate. (Or either the certificate of prescribed experience or the certificate of equivalent experience)
- Up to date medical indemnity insurance
- All non-principal GPs assisting in the provision of GMS (General Medical Services) need to be included on a Health Authority Performers List
- Up to date Criminal Records Bureau enhanced disclosure
